This requisition may be filled at the higher grade based on the requirements listed below.

Our Mojave test team is looking for a Principal OR Sr. Principal Flight Test Engineer. This person will serve as lead flight test engineer on our Gulfstream II and Gulfstream IV flying testbed aircraft in Lancaster and Mojave, CA.

Standard range of duties include:
Provide test planning for envelope expansion followed by mission system payload testing. Coordinate with engineering disciplines to initiate a new payload installation on our aircraft and lead Safety reviews and Flight Readiness Reviews. Serve as an onboard crewmember and serve as a Test Conductor during flights. Interface with instrumentation and payload engineers to collect the desired data. Provide post-flight reports and work within a prescribed budget. Must attend altitude training and be able to support evacuation procedures in an emergency.

Basic Qualifications for Principal (Level 3):

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of relevant engineering experience (electrical, aerospace, mechanical, etc); Master's Degree and 3 years
  • Must be able to obtain a third class medical
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
  • Candidate must be able to develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems.
  • Coordinate integrated testing activities.
  • Review and evaluate test requirements to insure completeness of test program.
  • Perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.Basic Qualifications for Sr Principal (Level 4):
    • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of relevant engineering experience (electrical, aerospace, mechanical, etc); Master's Degree and 7 years
    • Must be able to obtain a third class medical
    • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
    • Candidate must be able to develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems
    • Coordinate integrated testing activities
    • Review and evaluate test requirements to insure completeness of test program.
    • Perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.Preferred Qualifications:
      • Active DoD Secret Clearance
      • Pilot's license, A&P mechanic, and/or experience as an airborne crewmember
      • Experienced with airframe modifications and envelope expansion
      • Experienced with electronic payloads and weapon systems
      • Strong leadership, management, communication, and interpersonal skills
      • Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward) Salary Range: $92,200 USD - $138,400 USD
        Salary Range 2: $114,300 USD - $171,500 USD

        Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
