You will be the Low Observables Engineer Staff for the Low Observables team (Signature Management & Survivability) which is responsible for advancing stealth?signature reduction and survivability technologies. What You Will Be Doing As the Low Observables Engineer Staff you will be responsible for guiding the end?to?end maturation of low?observable technologies—from concept and modeling through prototype testing and transition to production. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary experts and act as the technical voice for government and customer engagements. Your responsibilities will include: Perform, analyze, and communicate vehicle signature predictions using Unix?based codes and tools. Lead signature?reduction trade studies and optimization campaigns for platform?level and component?level designs. Plan and execute laboratory measurements of material coupons to determine physical, electrical, and environmental properties. Conduct research, design, and testing of advanced electromagnetic metamaterials applied to low?observable platforms. Develop and maintain scripts for batch analysis and post?processing of simulation and measurement results. Who You Are You are a proactive engineer with deep expertise in stealth signature phenomenology, radar cross?section analysis, and computational electromagnetics. You excel at self?directed work, leading small multidisciplinary teams, and communicating complex technical concepts to both internal leaders and external customers. Further Information About This Opportunity MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start. Basic Qualifications The following are absolutely required for those that apply: - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics or related technical degree/equivalent experience in RCS/LO technology with 5 years of related professional experience; or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics or related technical degree and knowledge of RCS/LO technology with 3 years of related professional experience; or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics or related technical degree with 1 year professional experience with RCS/LO technology - Professional experience in RCS, LO technology, RF, CEM simulations, or electromagnetics - U.S. Citizenship - Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance Desired skills The following attributes are desired/preferred but not required for consideration: - Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance or TS//SCI - Recognized experience in low observables (LO), survivability, or susceptibility - Experience with radar cross section reduction (RCSR) or radio-frequency (RF) antenna design/integration - Expertise in LO modeling and predictions with experience using one or more of the following: Computational electromagnetics (CEM), Method of Moments (MoM), Xpatch, SENTRi, HFSS - Experience with LO integration / multi-discipline air vehicle systems design - Experience in RCS range testing - Experience with LO materials and LO material integration onto physical platforms - Knowledge of RADAR, RF materials, RF material measurements - Cultivation, pursuit, capture, project or program management, and execution of signature technology IRAD & CRAD projects - Programming with C/C++, Java, Fortran, Matlab, Python - CAD software literacy for model cleanup and meshing Lockheed Martin is an equal opportunity employer. Ability to work remotely Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Security Clearance Information This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $113,900 - $200,905. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
