Job Description:

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday (9:00am - 5:30pm) on-call rotationBenefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance, 403(b) Retirement planESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES* Develop effective, trusting relationships with clients using a client-centered approach that includes motivational interviewing and harm reduction and Trauma-Informed care.* Provide guidance and support to line staff, including encouraging critical thinking among team members.* Provide crisis intervention for clients when necessary, and ensure timely resolution of client complaints.* Work with the Site Director and Assistant Director to ensure that the physical site is well-maintained and safe.* Provide oversight of the daily operations of the shelter.* Work with the management team to provide on-call coverage for emergencies.* Develop expert knowledge of documentation required by the agency and the funders, and ensures compliance with documentation standards, including electronic databases and paper charts. * Assist with preparing data for reports to funders, and track other data as needed. * Ensure adherence to agency policies and procedures.* Facilitate weekly case conferencing and performance evaluations for assigned staff, to create a supportive environment and ensure clients' progress towards permanent supportive housing and psycho-social rehabilitation * Communicate effectively, and promptly, with management, peers, collaborators, and clients.* Collaborate with other agency programs to provide greater support and assistance to clients.* Maintain client confidentiality at all times, while following agency, state, and HIPAA laws.* Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive, integrated care to individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and substance addiction.* Ensure that the site provides a robust enrichment program for clients, by coordinating with the AD Wellness & Enrichment and agency facilitators.* Create and coordinate staff schedules.* Participate in ongoing self-evaluation, and program evaluation.* Other duties as assigned* Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required, Master's degree in a relevant field strongly preferred * Minimum of two (2) years' experience in Case Management* Minimum of one (1) years' experience in management (with direct supervision of staff)* Critical thinking skills required * Strong computer skills - proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software programs required * Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of challenges and barriers experienced by the homeless* Committed to improving the community through empowerment and dignity* Skilled in non-violent crisis intervention* Ability to be on-call on some nights and weekends* Ability to communicate in a language other than English, preferred* Ability to self-motivate and be flexible in a fast-paced environment* Skilled in data collection and electronic databases. Experience with HMIS strongly preferred* Ability to self-motivate and be flexible in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision* Strong interpersonal and team-building skills to promote collaboration* Detail-oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal communicationWork Environment* Combination of field and office environment* Regularly required to sit, stand, bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 lbs.* On occasion walk or drive to different local sites* Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments* Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor* May need to bend, stoop, twist and sit throughout the dayResponsibilities Common To All Agency Employees* Maintain a safe work environment and confidentiality at all times* Be proactive, creative, and flexible in determining, evaluating, researching, and resolving issues* Organize and prioritize multiple activities to meet all external and internal deadlines* Maintain professional demeanor that reflects positively on the agency* Demonstrate respect and courtesy toward others* Able to thrive in a work environment emphasizing teamwork and collaboration* Respond promptly in all aspects of communication* Work with minimum supervision* Perform other duties as assignedThe People Concern is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to non-discrimination in employment.
