Position SummaryStratolaunch is developing hypersonic vehicles to support various Department of Defense and commercial applications. Stratolaunch seeks a Payload Mission Manager to lead the integration of customer payloads with the Stratolaunch hypersonic vehicles. Candidates must have a strong engineering background and experience in payload integration. Experience with sensors, instrumentation, or high temperature materials is preferred.As Payload Mission Manager, you will report to the Hypersonic Programs Director and be responsible for integrating customer payloads with our Talon-A hypersonic vehicles. You will interface with the customer on a regular basis to develop requirements, manage integration schedules, provide updates, and ensure the customer has an optimal experience working with Stratolaunch. You will be part of the hypersonic engineering team and develop interface requirements and interface control documents for use in payload integration. You will collaborate with the manufacturing and operations team to answer questions and resolve conflicts during payload installation. You will also work with the customer to generate and implement the payload functional test matrix prior to the mission. You will work with the Stratolaunch contracts team to ensure customer milestones are achieved. You will work with the hypersonic vehicle program management team to ensure the customer needs are communicated and integrated with program planning tools.Essential duties and responsibilities:Develop interface requirements for payload integrationCoordinate across multiple Stratolaunch departments to ensure the customer milestones are met while providing customers with an optimal experienceDevelop the payload integration schedule, starting from receipt of payload through return of the payload and delivery of customer dataGenerate and maintain Interface Control Documents and deliver them to the customerCoordinate with the manufacturing and operations team to perform physical payload integrationWork with customers to verify functional performance after payload integrationWork with customers and the operations team to develop ground and flight test plans to support customer objectivesOwner of the Talon-A Payload User's GuideCoordinate flight test data reduction, as required, and deliver to customersSupport the preparation of business proposals to the US Government and industryCoordinate and help resolve technical challenges, as requiredContribute to the integration of complex aerospace systemsTravel, as needed, to support the companyDemonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity, and fulfillment of commitmentsQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorilyThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability requiredReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsRequiredKnowledge of, and experience with, electrical engineering, avionics, electronics, software, aircraft and/or launch vehicle integrationExperience with requirements development, with a focus on interface managementExperience with air or space vehicle instrumentationExperience with computer-aided design (CAD) software toolsExperience with integration and test planningAbility to work on their own initiative and prioritize tasking to fit within the business goalsExperience with complex aerospace system developmentAbility to quickly adapt to changing prioritiesAbility to obtain a security clearance at the TS/SCI levelPreferredExperience with sensor integrationExperience with high-temperature materials, thermal protection systems, or optical windowsExperience with U.S. government agenciesActive security clearanceRequired computer skillsEngineering software toolsMS Office (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook)Configuration management systemsEducation/experience/certificationsBachelor's degree (BS) in engineering, physics, or mathematics from an accredited institution and 15-plus years of relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experienceSpecial remarks regarding work environmentTravel estimated to be approximately 25%Position is based in Mojave, CAApplicants must be a US citizen holder to be considered for this role.Stratolaunch is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity at our company.
