Job Description:
The Learning & Development (L&D) Manger designs, implements,
evaluates and provides ongoing program management of comprehensive
training, learning, and leadership development programs to support
organizational initiatives and build skills for Mojave P&M and
support staff, and leaders. The L&D Manager also supports
Mojave leaders with individual and staff learning and development
and on-boarding.
Key Responsibilities
* Supports organization-wide initiatives with strategic design,
implementation, and ongoing program management for learning and
training programs at staff and leader level.
* Designs, implements, and manages leadership, management, and
employee training programs.
* Delivers and facilitate classroom, virtual, and online learning
and training.
* Consults with partner groups to assess and analyze learning and
training needs, identify delivery methods, and insure successful
and sustainable implementation.
* Liaises with SBU/Function/HR managers to develop and implement
training, development, and succession plans that are appropriate
for their business needs and consistent with the overall training
strategy.
* Designs, delivers, and manages new leader on-boarding
program.
* Applies various modalities (i.e. online, instructor-led, blended,
mobile, etc.) and follow-on supporting tools and job aids when
designing learning and training programs.
* Evaluates, selects, and manages a pool of resources (vendors,
external trainers and consultants, content providers, etc.) to
support learning and training needs.
* Serves as a master trainer to provide training to internal or
external resources deployed to training and learning
initiatives.
* Implements communication and change management principles and
tactics to ensure adoption and participation.
* Designs and maintains evaluation metrics and tools to monitor
training and program effectiveness and uses data to make
improvements, insuring appropriate documentation of education
programs by maintaining course records to document participation
and to align with regulatory requirements.
* Leads advisory councils and/or engages customers (when
appropriate) to support design and implementation of learning and
training programs.
* Selects and manages ongoing relationships with external
consultants and training providers. Stay current on developments
and innovations in training and education in the industry sector so
the organization's training activities remain relevant.
* Supports leaders with learning and development needs for
themselves or their staff.
* Support design and delivery, and management of succession
planning and high potential development programs.
Qualifications:
* BA/BS degree in Business, Information Management, Education or
related field, or equivalent combination of experience and
education.
* Experience as a Learning Management System administrator.
Specific expertise in the Cornerstone LMS platform is desired but
not required.
* Ability to define how individual components fit together to build
the desired outcome - i.e. Reports, dashboard, return on
investment.
* Understand the critical relationships of data managed within the
LMS such as the job title to the training and how that translates
to the employee and the training experience (on-line, classroom,
on-the-Job)
* Ability to foresee the desired outcomes in order to arrange the
inputs to accordingly to achieve training requirements
* Experience in training design/development. A good understanding
of the overall training process including requirements, scheduling,
delivery, monitoring and reporting
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability
to express technical concepts in audience appropriate terms
* Ability to work without close supervision, keeping focused on
short and long-term objectives
* Strong organizational skills, very detail oriented
* Ability to manage competing priorities and excellent project
management skills
* Strong analytical skills for identifying and solving problems
* Strong knowledge and previous experience in using MS Access and
Excel, knowledge of pivot tables, charts, crosstab queries and
macros.
* Understanding of database design concepts. Experience creating
tables, queries, reports and forms.
* Knowledge and understanding of sorting, filtering, adding,
deleting, and modifying records. Ability to query, import, export
and link data from multiple sources.
