Job Description:

The primary purpose of this position is to solicit, evaluate, and purchase script files from independents and other competitors and assist in area canvassing for purchase opportunities in an efficient manner that will maximize potential retention, script growth, margin and profitability. Utilize various other methods, in addition to canvassing, to identify purchase opportunities, and play an integral role in supporting all company initiatives.Evaluate the value of pharmacy volume and retention to purchase, using a financial return on investment model in a manner that will increase script growth and EBITDA. Ensure purchase of inventory meets all Rite Aid Corporate guidelines.Complete due diligence to investigate possible instances related to, but not limited to, disciplinary actions, controlled substance diversion and third party plan exclusions. Factor into the audit process possible lease "tie-up" arrangements and remodel costs. Partner and communicate with legal, marketing, real estate, public relations and inventory departments to maximize retention and protect the company from exposure to liability or risk.Partner with district leadership teams to locate purchase opportunities. Develop and train field associates to develop acquisition leads, practice proper procedures for auditing and negotiating acquisitions. Develop and execute a follow-up plan and partner with operations to track retention and address any issues that may arise post file buy, providing a timely response regarding any and all issues associated with a transaction.Achieve targeted file buy goals as determined by SVP Rx Operations and SEVP Store Operations. This includes number of deals, number of scripts and retention percentages.Partner with the Real Estate department to sell any Pharmacy departments associated with store closings.Act as a liaison between sellers, sellers' associates and operators to assist in the interviewing and hiring of seller and/or associates.Provide continuous feedback to the corporate office with regard to canvassing activities, applicant data, recruiting efforts, hires and identified issues that may arise. Maintain communication and act as a first point of contact for anything related to pharmacy acquisitions.Meet all deadlines for tasks, requested information, reports and customers (internal and external) expectations where indicated. Work with a sense of urgency to coordinate all activities on acquisition dates to ensure smooth transition into Rite Aid business.Conduct professional business relationships, with the highest level of integrity, and demonstrate the values of "The Rite Aid Experience". This is important because you are always viewed as a representative of the company. Recognize associates who demonstrate corporate values by utilizing the Rite Aid Applause associate recognition program.Partner with Regional and Divisional leaders to train, develop, and mentor field leaders in areas inside and outside of acquisitions.#LI-JC1Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)in Pharmacy or PharmD preferred.Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)in Real Estate, Business or related field retail; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
