Sir Richard Branson, Founder, Virgin GalacticThe Corporate Security Operations Manager is a highly responsible and visible role within the company. It provides strategic and tactical support to the Senior Director Corporate Security, Plant Operations to ensure the security of teammates, capital assets and proprietary information for the Company. Responsibilities:

  • Prevent and protect the company, employees, customers, customer data, technical resources, and companys assets from internal and external threats within all California facilities.
  • Coordinate and develop internal controls to prevent the theft of equipment or proprietary information and ensure that employees are safe in the workplace.
  • When security breaches occur, focus shifts from prevention to response, investigation, and mitigation.
  • Extensive liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
  • Effective ongoing working relationship with coordination and support in conjunction with the New Mexico Security Operations Manager, ensuring consistency within security.
  • Oversee and coordinate executive protection program for C level executives, as appropriate.
  • Evaluates the risks faced by the company and use this information to find solutions that will mitigate the threat. These security hazards can be wide ranging, from theft and vandalism to environmental disasters.
  • Oversee travel security program.
  • Ensure that California facilities are fully compliant with all acceptable security regulations.
  • The Security Operations Manager must stay up to date on all such regulations that could impact the company and make sure that the facility is meeting these requirements.
  • Support security program in New Mexico as needed.
  • Constantly researching the latest in security advancements and looking for ways to make operations more efficient, while being aware of the financial repercussions.
  • Utilization of risk assessment and analysis techniques, conducting quarterly risk assessments as appropriate
  • Remain up to date on new threats and opportunities to make necessary changes to policies and procedures.
  • Looks for ways to integrate new security technologies into the workforce. This proactive approach ensures that the company is always at the cutting edge of corporate security, creating an environment that protects people, products, and the company.
  • Extensive liaison and oversight of third-party security related vendors, in coordination with New Mexico Security Operations Manager, maintaining consistency.
  • Excellent technical, interpersonal, and analytical skills required.
  • Strong literacy in MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong computer systems knowledge.
  • Highly organized and skilled with time management.
  • Strong customer service skill required.
  • Excellent communication skills (written reports/analysis and oral presentation)
  • Strong relationship building and management skills and demonstrated experience working with support vendors.
  • Possess a positive "Can Do" attitude by stepping up and taking additional responsibilities and adapting to changes in this fast-paced environment.
  • Practical approach/ leads by example. Happy to be hands on and work closely with cross-functional teams.
