Job Description:

AMD is looking for a Senior Manager, Mergers & Acquisition Integration to join our growing team to drive company-wide preparation for and execution of strategic merger and acquisition integration projects across the company. This will include managing successful execution of target company functional integration and achievement of required cost and revenue-generating synergies. This highly visible position will work with the AMD Corporate Development team, functional and cross-functional teams, target/acquired company leadership, as well as external advisors/consultants. This role will report directly to the Head of M&A Integration in the Strategy and Corporate Development team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of integration strategy, planning and execution from business case development to execution and post-closing value capture, working closely with M&A deal leads.
  • Actively participate in due diligence as representative of integration.
  • Oversee the development of detailed integration plans and milestones in conjunction with functional business leaders and cross-functional teams and as suggested by the business strategy
  • Facilitate development of key tracking metrics aligned with transaction value drivers and synergy plans; monitor and track transaction performance against value drivers, milestones and metrics.
  • Drive day-to-day execution of the integration process, including leading cross-functional teams, managing weekly integration meetings and proactively driving issue resolution in alignment with key partners
  • Present summary integration plans and report progress and key metrics to senior management.
  • Conduct post-mortems on deal and integration execution and continually strive to better existing practices.
  • Develop and communicate current and future integration process standards, best practices and guidelines across transactions; support the buildout of repeatable processes and tools for M&A integration.

    Qualifications:
    • 12+ years total work experience including experience in M&A integration, business operations, corporate operations/consulting and/or program/project management.
    • 4+ years of demonstrated expertise and success in executing and leading M&A integration efforts in a Corporate Development role or as a top-tier consultant. Demonstrated knowledge of M&A including pre-deal due diligence, integration planning and execution, synergy and cost savings analysis, and/or post-close transformation.
    • Cross-functional competency: experience working within (or directly with) multiple corporate functions, ideally in an M&A context - e.g. Product Marketing, HR, Finance, IT.
    • Demonstrated capacity for and success with developing and managing functional and cross-functional relationships, interactions with senior executive leadership, and effective process management.
    • Able to build solid and collaborative relationships with multiple constituencies.
    • Comfortable with the ambiguity inherent to M&A; able to adapt, succinctly summarize and prioritize issue, and drive solutioning to issues in partnership with the extended teams
    • Solid knowledge of project management discipline, project management tools and analysis.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. Ability to assess and balance risk
    • MBA preferred
