PATH operates services throughout California, connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention, street outreach, employment preparation and placement assistance, individualized case management, supportive services, interim housing, and permanent supportive housing. Our Housing Partnerships Program works to develop and maintain long-term housing partnerships with landlords and properties in Los Angeles and Southern California. This includes heading the development and real-time documentation of available housing resources, providing tenant and property mediation support, and spearheading best practices to develop relationships and rapport with the landlord community.WHAT IS A HOUSING SPECIALIST?With support and direction from the Housing Manager, the Housing Specialist provides landlord outreach and engagement services to develop a full range of permanent housing opportunities for individuals, families, youth and veterans experiencing homelessness. Responsibilities of the Housing Specialist Include: Cultivating and maintaining a robust list of available housing inventoryFacilitating the housing process from unit acquisition through lease-up to ensure an efficient and timely experience for landlords and community-based organization (CBO) staffProviding strong customer service support to landlords and CBO staff during housing placement and regarding any concerns that ariseAssisting with the coordination and execution of landlord mobilization and appreciation eventsExecuting property inspections in accordance with PATH, LAHSA, and HUD procedures and standardsNetworking with agencies, coalitions and local community partners to develop on-going partnershipsCreating and maintaining property and landlord portfoliosWHAT YOU BRINGWere looking for candidates that: Demonstrate experience with property management and real estate functions including knowledge of supportive housing, housing markets, city planning and/or public policyHave experience and are proficient with Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office SuiteDemonstrate knowledge of federal, state, and local Fair Housing lawsMaintain and execute confidential information according to HIPAA standardsPossess a high level of tolerance and understanding for individuals with urgent and multiple case management and health needsWork just as well independently as they do on a teamExercise mature judgement, and are highly motivated, self-starting and proactiveAre excellent at communicating, whether in writing or verballyHave a strong sense of prioritization and can coordinate multiple demands in a high-pressure environmentMANDATORY REQUIREMENTSFor this role the Housing Specialist must: Hold a Bachelors Degree in a related fieldHave at least 2 years of experience working in social services, populations in crisis including the homeless and people with disabilities, property management and/or real estate functions.Be able and willing to work flexible hours which may include evenings or weekendsHave employment eligibility verificationHave or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid trainingHave reliable transportation and: A valid drivers licenseAuto InsuranceThe ability to qualify for PATH insurance coverageSuccessfully complete the following as a condition of hire: Tuberculosis TestBackground ScreeningDrug TestREADY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE THROUGH ACTION?If this sounds like you, please visit our PATH Careers Site (at and search for JR# 1944 to submit your application.
