Race focuses its efforts on building world-class fiber networks and offering gigabit internet service to communities throughout California.Summary:As an Outside Sales Representative, your primary responsibility is to expand Race Communications' customer base by proactively engaging potential customers. You will achieve this by actively seeking out opportunities to interact with individuals in their homes and communities. Your goal will be to build meaningful connections with potential customers and effectively communicate the value of Race Communications' products and services to gain their business. Qualifications and Experience:

  • Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Minimum age requirement of 18 years
  • Preferred high school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Preferred associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Required experience of at least one year as an Inside Sales Representative or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred working knowledge of CRM systems and practices
  • Proven track record of successful customer relationship management
  • Ability to travel moderate distances periodically to attend sales events
  • Preferred possession of a valid CA Basic Class C driver's license
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish is desirableSkills:
    • Ability to listen, address questions and customer complaints, and providing timely solutions
    • Proficient use of MS Office tools (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) and iPad for taking orders
    • Functional use of common office equipment, computers, and office software
    • Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and workflow

    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questionsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
      • Sources new sales opportunities through door-to-door education of the Race fiber optic internet, phone, and television services
      • Meets or exceeds monthly sales goals set by you and your manager
      • Identifies, assesses, and understands customer needs and requirements to achieve customer satisfaction
      • Research neighborhoods, identify potential sales opportunities, and generate interest and sales opportunities
      • Manages creation and presentation of quotations for opportunities as they are identified
      • Generates new business and promotes growth of Race products
      • Gains and retains extensive product knowledge as well as detailed comprehension of customer's requirements for Race fiber optic internet, phone, and television products
      • Builds relationships and trust with customers through open and interactive communication (listening)
      • Provides accurate, valid, and complete information when using our CRM and other software as provided
      • Keeps detailed records of customer interactions, process customer accounts, and file documents
      • Follows sales team procedures and guidelines, along with policies outlined in the Race Communications Employee Handbook
      • Participates in sales campaigns and attend outside sales events (travel required) Other duties as necessary may include but are not limited to:
        • Successfully complete assigned training and examinations, as well as participate in ongoing performance and development reviews, and goal setting
        • Be available to participate in internal or external meetings, special functions, and professional development opportunities
        • Cross-train and share knowledge with other team members

The duration of the Speedway program spans from 1-3 weeks, depending on the position. During Speedway the schedule will vary: 8-hour days are planned, but shorter days may occur depending on the group's pace. Applicants further than 50 miles from these training locations will be provided with necessary travel accommodations as part of the onboarding process. Applicants 50 miles or less from these locations will be considered regular commute. For those working remotely, virtual attendance will depend on position requirements.
