Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.As part of a passionate and accomplished team, you will work closely with sub-system designers to create the system level test requirements which support the verification requirements and requisite model validation data. You will take the tests and guide them from initial test architecture through integration and execution, providing intended data products for design verification. Products for these tests require your skills in writing plans/reports, planning resources and schedule, coordinating supply and logistics, integrating analysis for loads and environments, instrumentation design for data collection, and vetting/presenting plans and processes for review. You will have support from subject matter experts during the test design and are not required to be the expert in all fields of the test.You will contribute to the successful completion a major test campaign. Including planning, writing test plans and test procedures, developing test equipment, and compiling test reports.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively the future of spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Responsibilities:Lead the planning, architecture, and coordination of the resources necessary to successfully design, integrate, and execute testing of electrical systems for development and verification. Coordinate with the design engineer subject matter experts across each affected system under test to integrate the identified System verification requirements into the detailed test plan for the development risk reduction and/or verification run for record event as appropriate.Participate in development and gated design reviews of system under test to work testability, instrumentation, and operability features in during the design phase of new vehicles to facilitate verification.Lead the conduct of Test Design Reviews, Integration Readiness Reviews, and Test Readiness review for your events.Develop and author Test Plan, Test Procedures, and Test Results.Design and develop Special Test Equipment (STE) and integrate Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) to simulate and stimulate Articles Under Test (AUTs) or capture AUT output and interface performance.Coordinate with suppliers on acquisition of requisite EGSE and STE defined by your team design while leveraging standard commercial devices to the maximum extent possible.Have frequent inter-organizational and customer interactions on difficult technical issuesWill work independently to determine and develop approaches to solutionsWill contribute to the mentoring & training of other personnelQualifications:B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area.Understanding of the principles, concepts, and methods of systems engineering such as concept development, requirement definition, design solution definition, implementation, integration, verification and validation, qualification, commissioning or operationsDirect experience developing test infrastructure, integrating the test articles, and testing Major Assembly Spacecraft Test Articles with emphasis on Mechanical, Structural, and Fluid systems.General knowledge of Test Design, Test planning process, Instrumentation, Structures, Fluids, and MechanismsExperience providing imaginative and detailed technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems such as Test Fixtures, lifting and off-loading test articles for interface and separation tests, preloading test articles to emulate test load environment, .Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environmentAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, standards and technical requirementsAbility to perform data analysis and reduction and present technical information in a clear and compelling visual formatStrong safety mindset and experience, including hands-on experience planning and conducting hazardous or critical operationsAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusionMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:Hands-on test and production facility, factory or laboratory experienceExperience conducting tests as a Test DirectorExperience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or system integration labs (SIL)Demonstrated experience where quick-thinking and problem solving plays a critical roleExperience with requirements development/management tools; DOORS, DOORS Next Gen and lifecycle management (PLM) and/or data, WindchillHands-on testing experience in thermal, vibration, shock and vacuum testing on flight hardware in accordance with MIL-STD-810, SMC-S-016 and MIL-STD-1540Experienced with high pressure/energy system design and handlingIntermediate skill level using NI Labview / TestStand3+ years previous experience operating test equipment of a similar magnitudeThe expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
