Company is looking for a current 3L Law student to join the Client
Litigation Services (CLS) Department as a Senior Consultant I (3L
Law Clerk). CLS represent policyholders in claims-related
litigation/disputes across the country. It also represents the
Company in the defense of low and moderate exposure bodily injury
and property damage lawsuits.
While awaiting the results of the bar examination and subsequent
admission to the bar, under the direction and supervision of an
admitted attorney, the Senior Consultant I prepares pleadings and
motions, conducts discovery, including reviewing documents,
interviewing clients, preparing trial materials, and summarize and
analyze research.Key Responsibilities
- Review new file assignments and draft initial pleadings (e.g.,
answer, motion, etc.) and draft discovery
- Prepare briefs to assist client in presenting cases in small
claims court (CA)
- Draft responses to discovery demands
- Assist clients in answering questions regarding discovery
- Review and serve responses to discovery demands
- Assist attorney in preparing materials for trial, arbitration,
or mediation
- Attend arbitrations, depositions, mediations, and trials with
admitted attorneyThe position begins in early to mid-August while
waiting for results of bar exam. Education
- Juris Doctor (Required)
- 2024-2025 3L Law student; awaiting bar resultsFunctional
Skills* 3 or more years of experience (Preferred)Supervisory
